About Fiona Oakes Childcare
I am an Ofsted Registered Childcare Practitioner who lives in Heswall, Wirral. I have been qualified as a Registered Childminder for over eight years and have a wealth of childcare knowledge.
The childcare setting is run from my own home, which has been extended to provide a self contained playroom and cotroom on the ground floor to enable me to keep a close eye on the children at all times. The safety of the children is of paramount importance to me.
I plan exciting and stimulating daily activities for the children, which reflects the needs of each child. Everyone is treated as an individual and the six weekly reviews which I carry out for each child highlight developmental areas which are then built into my childminding daily planner. Arts and craft, painting, play doh, sensory play, dressing up, imaginery play, reading, storytime and songtime are just a few of the activities which we can get up to in the day.
I supply a 'Daily journal' which records what your child has been doing during the day, as well as the details of food eaten, sleep times and nappy changes. It provides a two-way communication between the parents and myself, which goes back and forth between the two parties each day.
I closely follow the Early Years Foundation Stage structure and I demonstrate that every child matters. Your child's progress and development is recorded in a binder full of photographs and observations, directly linked to the E.Y.F.S., which parents' can take home every six weeks to look through. I believe that a child's development relies on the partnership between the parents and childcare provider, and by working together and maintaining good communication it will aid the child to develop and progress.
I provide a fresh home-cooked hot meal each evening in addition to their lunchtime menu, thus giving the children the nutrients and well balanced diet that is required to keep a child healthy.
We go out on trips to local farms, nature trails, Chester boats, playcentres, toddler groups and many more.
Each day I ensure that the children get some fresh air and exercise.
I am one of the few childminders in Heswall/childminders in Wirral who offers a term time only contract as well as the full time contract.
