About East Dulwich Osteopath
I am a Dulwich-based osteopath treating babies, children and adults.
Osteopathy is a holistic approach to help the body return to optimum health. Osteopaths look at the body as a whole and aim to treat the cause of the problem instead of just the symptom. Therefore, I treat the person and not the condition. All areas of symptoms are taken into account and the structural imbalances that are preventing the body's return to a state of physical balance are addressed.
My professional interest is in paediatrics, women's health, back injuries and sport injuries. In the session, a medical history will be taken to see if there could be any links to their current problems, for example any falls, operations or difficulties giving birth. Consent is then given by the client to proceed with an examination where tests are performed to eliminate any differential pathologies and try to discover why the problem has occurred. The client is then treated according to what the body needs, so everyone is different.
How much of a problem a person has and how healthy they are can determine how long treatment will take. Also, it is important to consider how much they are willing to help themselves and whether they take steps to change their lifestyle, so that the problems are not recurring.
I qualified in 2006 as an Osteopath BSc (Hons). I also have a MSc (Hons) in Paediatric Osteopathy since 2010 from the Osteopathic Centre for Children (OCC).
I am registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOSC) and a member of the British Osteopathic Association (BOA).
