Hi, I'm Samantha Chater, Clinical Hypnotherapist and Mindfulness Practitioner based face to face in Hale, Altrincham, and I offer sessions online, over the telephone and home visits. General Hypnotherapy Council (GHC) and Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) registered. I’ve been helping many people feel more in control of their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Hypnotherapy can help with a wide range of issues such as anxiety and stress management, depression, sleep, weight management, changing habits and fears, increasing confidence and self-esteem, managing chronic pain symptoms, trauma recovery and menopausal symptoms. Because I want to be sure I can help you with your issue, I always offer a complimentary initial consultation where you can tell me a little more about your problem and what you would like to change and achieve. I can then give you a much more honest opinion on whether my services would help you. Many people perceive what hypnosis is and isn’t, and the truth is that it is not as unnatural as people think. Have you ever driven your car to a destination to find that you cannot recall parts of the journey when you get there? Or maybe you have been so engrossed in a TV show that you didn’t hear the telephone ring or the knock at the door. If you’ve experienced either of these things, you have already experienced hypnosis, as that state is just a narrowed focus. Hypnosis isn’t something that is done TO you. It’s something that happens naturally. You might have seen stage hypnosis on the television (Paul McKenna, Darren Brown) and worry that you may be made to bark like a dog or cluck like a chicken. Don't worry; therapeutic hypnosis is a powerful health and well-being intervention that would never make you do anything against your morals or values. As a Hypnotherapist, I serve as a guide and a teacher of sorts, helping you become more comfortable with the process of hypnosis. Ultimately, the only one that can “hypnotise” you is YOU. That’s right; YOU are the one that is always in control. Hypnosis is not mind-control, and it doesn’t involve manipulating someone. Hypnosis is very safe because you are always in control.
