About All Pilates
Pilates is physical and mental exercise method, which will see you move gently or vigorously, depending on your own level of fitness at any one time. These exercises will see you apply roughly 8 Pilates principles each time: breathing, aligning, centering, concentration, coordination, opposition, fluid movement and stamina. When all of this are applied, you are then working from a strong core, targeting principally your deep layer of muscles, those which keep your joints well supported. Thus you are going to be better connected within your own body and able to undertake a broader range of activities (from more basic ones to competitive sports!)while feeling more energised and at the same time calmer (in clients' own words). So Pilates is right for everyone, whether you are super fit or need some encouragement to get moving.
