About Charades Guest House
Situated in the beautiful and historic county of Herefordshire in England's West Midlands, Steve and Helen at Charades offer the very best setting for superior accommodation in the most glorious of locations, where you will find a warm welcome, an inviting atmosphere and comfortable surroundings.
Perfectly placed, just ten minutes walk from the City of Hereford and an excellent base to explore Herefordshire and the surrounding area, Charades Guest House has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment to include a new dining room and refurbishment of our fourteen bedrooms. Charades also has a self contained apartment which offers a lounge, double bedroom and bathroom with large power shower and fully fitted kitchen, which offers its own entrance. We offer excellent facilities, and every effort will be made to ensure all our guests feel comfortable, happy and satisfied.
The house was built in 1877 and sits in a large gardens which guests can enjoy, it has retained many of its original Victorian features (including the service bells in our hallway), fire places, high ceilings and coving charades is in a quiet conservation area, close to a lovely park, with a large private car park which is well lit in the grounds of the house.
The City of Hereford is the perfect location for a short break. With a great selection of pubs, restaurants and cafes on offer, there are plenty of opportunities to explore the history of the city. Hereford Cathedral dates from 1079 and well worth a visit. Another highlight is the museum in the Jacobean Old House, and there is plenty to do and see, including a great choice in retail therapy. The nearby Black Mountains are a popular destination for walkers and sightseers alike.
We are in walking distance to Hereford technical college and the Hereford County & Nuffield Hospitals and coach and railway links.
Our fourteen bedrooms are all spacious and light, with some giving spectacular views over the city, the Cathedral and the Black Mountains beyond. All rooms are dressed in period future and beds are made up in top quality Egyptian cotton bedding and come with colour TV, tea & coffee making facilities, hair dryer and hospitality tray. Wi-Fi access is complementary during your stay. There is also a big collection of Titanic memorabilia on display for you to enjoy.
There are facilities in our conservatory for our guests to store and prepare food, and there is a disabled entrance with ramp.
Our prices start at a very reasonable £50 pppn (for single occupancy); with a standard double room at £65 and superior rooms at £75 per night. Prices include a delicious traditional grill or vegetarian breakfast served in the elegant dining room.
Charades is owned and run by husband and wife team Steve and Helen and with help from the staff work tirelessly to ensure you enjoy your stay with them. Charades is well worth a visit, and you can be sure your stay will be a memorable one.
