About The King's School Recreation Centre
Owned and managed by the country’s oldest independent school, The King’s School Recreation Centre was designed not only for pupils’ recreation but also as a facility to be shared with the local community. As a 'dual use' Centre, its facilities are among the best in the country.
Here at King’s, members and their families exercise in exclusive surroundings. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly; members whether 6 months or 70+ are warmly welcomed, whatever their ability and level of fitness. If a leisure complex is a new experience, the Centre staff are there to provide help and encouragement. Platinum, Gold, Silver or temporary memberships are offered, although there is occasionally a waiting list. Our reception staff will be happy to advise you on the membership type and payment method that will best suit your needs.
Members can swim, play squash, badminton, tennis or work out in the fitness suite, and the multi-purpose sports hall accommodates most indoor team games. Qualified staff provide training in a wide variety of sports and leisure activities. Non members may also enjoy Centre facilities and (if accompanied by a member) the swimming pool. There is no overcrowding and there are regular times set aside for adults only to ensure undisturbed enjoyment of the pool.
Our new Sauna, Steam Room and Cardio Theatre are now open for members' use, along with our newly developed Fencing Salle.
If you would like to arrange a tour of the Centre, or require further details about membership and Centre activities please contact reception on 01227-812921.
