About Simon Dewey Photography
Hello, I’m Simon. I create honest and artistic wedding photographs – inspired by music, movies and street photography.
With a wedding, it’s not just the moments that have been months in the making that we remember. It’s also everything in between. The anticipation in the morning. The page boys and bridesmaids playing. The arrival of family and friends. The laughter. The ceremony nerves. The joy.
It’s this that I try and capture. The natural, candid moments that speak volumes about how you felt on your big day. From the preparations through to the reception celebrations.
My approach is quite simple – to stay in the background. You won’t find yourself standing for hours on parade as I assemble different combinations of family and friends while everyone else is bored silly. I want you to relax and enjoy your time while I move around capturing the magic of your special day. No fancy lighting setups or assistants. In fact, if I’m doing my job right, you and your guests won’t even notice me! Of course I am happy to take some formal photos – but if you are after a lot of group shots you’re better off looking elsewhere.
My style of wedding photography is often referred to as documentary or reportage. It captures events as they really happen. It’s observational, undirected and records the true emotions of the day. Because how you felt on your wedding day is the one thing you should never forget.
