About National Ice Centre

The National Ice Centre is an iconic venue in the Heart of Nottingham City Centre and accessible for all. It is also home to the GB Olympic Short Track Speed Skating Team, the Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey Team and the smash hit CBBC show Ice Stars. Nottingham has a long tradition of ice skating and our venue is famed for being the home of legendary Olympic skating duo Jayne Torvill & Christopher Dean as they used to train here. In 2012, the National Ice Centre was one of just a few landmarks through which the Olympic Flame was carried during the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay. Torvill & Dean performed on the ice with the Olympic Flame in an ice gala that was broadcast across the globe. We’ve been running ice skating programmes especially for schools for over ten years now so our coaches have a vast amount of experience working with and coaching school children. Over 22,000 children have participated and passed our six-week learn to skate programmes over the years.
