About The Belle Freehouse
The ‘Belle Freehouse’ is situated in the picturesque village of Bassingbourn, just eight miles from the historical City of Cambridge, 3 miles from Royston and situated within easy reach of the A10 corridor, the A1M & M11 motorways into London.
‘The Belle’ is named in tribute to the iconic B-17 ‘Memphis Belle’, which was stationed in Bassingbourn during World War 2 and which was later subject of the Hollywood blockbuster movie of the same name.
The Belle’ is an eclectic mix of both contemporary and traditional features, that blend perfectly. At the heart of the pub is the log burning stove that is both warming and welcoming. The purpose built bar has been hand crafted and is the focal part of the pub, offering real ales, lagers, fine wines, an extensive range of gins, an array of malt whiskeys and a large variety of spirits & liqueurs.
The main bar area is a great place to meet up whether it be a mid morning coffee at the weekend, early afternoon drinks or an evening's social gathering with friends and family.
We are a child friendly pub, with a children's menu, baby changing facilities and a children's climbing frame. 'The Belle' is also easily accessible and has a dedicated disabled toilet.
