About Chapter 17
We are a family run, family owned bar and restaurant, created from a love of food and a passion for hospitality.
At Chapter 17 we embrace and respect a diverse range of dietary requirements, and feel that our menu reflects this. If however your struggling to find something, please do let us know.
We feel strongly about utilising local resources and local people, but also fairness and equality when sourcing from further afield. We put a lot of time into sourcing our produce and look at the way it impacts others, for example:
- Our coffee is deemed “fairer than fairtrade”. Our coffee roaster travels far and wide, ensuring that the coffee they supply is sustainably sourced and the growers themselves receive a fair deal.
- Our meat is sourced locally in Halifax, from a small farm/butchery in Lee Mount.
- Our fish is delivered from Hull throughout the week, and is caught responsibly.
- We try to buy our drinks from smaller brands, so that we can support smaller businesses like ourselves.
We hope you enjoy your visit to Chapter 17, if there is anything we can do to make your experience even better, please do let us know and we will do everything possible to accommodate you.
