About Counselling by Jane & Animal Assisted Therapy Services
I provide a Counselling service, Rewind Therapy and an Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) provision for adults and children over 11 years. You can have Counselling or AAT. It's your choice if you require a therapy pet to be with you throughout your sessions. The main therapy cat is Neisha and I also have a small dog called Bertie. I work in a Person-centred way, integrating different methods like CBT, Solution-focused, Psychodynamic etc into the therapy as required, but always at your pace. Therapy is confidential, empathic, professional, and is especially friendly. This can benefit adults & children who are experiencing a range of problems, issues and anxieties, which can affect everyday living. Whether its relationship difficulties, PTSD, divorce, loss/bereavement, bullying, work issues, phobias, illness or disabilities, etc. I can help you work through these, manage them and improve your quality of life. Working alongside animals offers a different way of exploring difficult and sensitive issues and clients are more likely to express their feelings and recount painful experiences. Research indicates time spent stroking animals enhances mental, physical, and social well-being. It can lower blood pressure, relieve pain, reduce anxiety levels and enhance mood, help decrease stress, help build self-esteem, model positive relationships, plus lots more. Sessions are for 50 minutes, reviewed every 8 weeks. All in the strictest confidence.
